BASHAR KOKASH

Hello, my name is Bashar Kokash, and welcome to my blog Code + Business.

I am a Father, R&D Engineer, Product Manager, and Microsoft developer. I can advise on how to manage and build successful products. Using Agile methodologies, product management best practices.

Experience

Product management expert, bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering, but my technical background goes back to when I was a kid.

Programming is in my heartbeat. I started from HTML, assembly, and c, up to the managed programming languages where I mastered C# and .NET. In addition to database design and development. I crossed different platforms, including desktop, web, mobile, and cloud apps.

Mobile app development with Xamarin

My current focus on mobile app development using Xamrin, following product management practices.

If you want to catch up with the latest news from Microsoft about Xamarin mobile development, you can rewatch the .NET Cof 2020.

I started blogging on and off since 2007, you can check my first “Hello World” post here. The blog was only technical up until 2015, where I realized the gap between technical and business people. In this blog, I try to bridge the gap as much as I can.

Career

I started an R&D team at my previous company, where it became the center of innovations for new products and initiatives. As a product manager, I handled the business strategy for several physical security and law enforcement products. Eventually, I led the Product Development and Marketing department. We managed software business solutions, as well as physical security products, starting from concept up till production. You can see my career path on my LinkedIn profile.

Education & Studies

I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Information Systems Management at The University of Liverpool.

I read a lot of books and I listen to audiobooks as well, here is a list of books that I recently finished.
